How nice to see one former and two current honorees of the Children’s Africana Book Award program on your list of books that inspire kids! Please mark your calendar & spread the word that the illustrator of Emmanuel’s Dream, Sean Qualls, and 2, possibly 3, of authors & illustrator team behind One Plastic Bag will be in DC October 6-8, 2016. Awards dinner will be Friday Oct 7 at Busboys & Poets ($40) and free celebration of all 9 CABA winners for 2016 will be Saturday 11-2 at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art.
